Office and hotel buildings

Planning and design work for the European Chemical Agency’s office block in Telakkaranta, Helsinki, was initiated at Teracon in late 2017. Teracon’s scope of delivery included designing the construction elements for the project’s steel structures. There was an existing three-floored wood workshop (Puutyöpaja) on the site built from bricks. This was to be retained, located inside a gable as part of the new building. This was but one of the special challenges to rise to in the design phase.
Cooperation was smooth with the designers from various fields. JPV-Engineering Oy was responsible for the steel frame manufacture and installation.
